Bookkeeper Opportunity in Ottawa Lake, MI

Cardinal Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Bookkeeper to join a team in Ottawa Lake, MI. This role is critical in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day-to-day accounting operations. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, reconciling accounts, and supporting financial reporting processes. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and experienced in handling company finances with precision and confidentiality. Position may start part-time, but with the intention of moving to full-time. Position starts at $20/hr.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update financial records, including general ledger entries
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements
• Prepare and process payroll
• Generate monthly financial reports and assist with budgeting
• Prepare documentation for tax filings and audits
• Monitor cash flow and ensure timely payments
• Maintain compliance with company policies and financial regulations
• Support management with financial data and reporting as needed

Required Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
• 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar)
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and MS Office Suite
