Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: The evaluation / teardown technician is an entry level position and reports directly to the Evaluation Supervisor. This technician will assist the evaluation team with, but not limited to, moving, organizing, cleaning, paint stripping, disassembling, and scrapping aircraft components.

RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:

The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Utilize the corridor ERP system to clock in and out and sign off operations.
  • Move aircraft components to and from the evaluation department based upon the evaluators needs.
  • Organize the areas that the components are to be stored in and maintaining the organization of these areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and a FOD free environment.
  • Clean aircraft components based upon the evaluators needs. This may consist of degreasing and/or acetone wash.
  • Paint strip aircraft components by methods of chemically stripping or sanding.
  • Disassemble aircraft components based upon the evaluators needs.
  • Scrap aircraft components based upon the quality department’s needs.
  • Utilize OEM technical data to perform required tasks.
  • Follow all company procedures and policies relevant to the position.
  • Support company initiatives and comply with safety regulations.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • This job requires a minimum of high school education or general education degree (GED) and 3 to 5 years work-related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents to determine company/customer requirements
  • Must have experience and be able to use basic hand tools and pneumatic tools such as sanders and drills.
  • Strong work ethic (willingness to work hard and long hours, when needed)
  • Highly responsive to internal and external customer requirements, with a high attention to detail
  • Must work well with others and be flexible in handling multiple tasks
  • Must follow direction well and carry out tasks without distractions
  • Overtime may be required
  • Regular attendance at the worksite and must be punctual
