Job Title: Assistant Property Manager

Industry: Commercial Real Estate

Location: Alexandria, VA

Assignment Type: Contract (8-week coverage assignment)

Pay: $31 – $34 / Hour (depending on experience)

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (fully onsite)

About Our Client:

Addison Group is partnering with a well-established organization in the commercial real estate space to identify an Assistant Property Manager for a short-term coverage assignment. This role will support day-to-day property operations across a multi-building portfolio, ensuring a high-quality experience for tenants and vendors.

Job Description:

The Assistant Property Manager will play a key role in supporting building operations while the Property Manager is out of office. This individual will serve as a primary point of contact for tenants and vendors, helping to maintain efficient operations, strong client relationships, and overall property presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between tenants, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely resolution of service requests
  • Coordinate tenant move-ins and move-outs, including documentation, scheduling, and site inspections
  • Support vendor management, including oversight of service delivery and contract compliance
  • Assist with budgeting activities, tracking expenses, and reviewing invoices for accuracy
  • Partner with leadership to identify operational improvements and cost efficiencies
  • Conduct routine property inspections to maintain appearance and functionality of common areas and facilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as engineering, leasing, and construction to support property needs
  • Help coordinate tenant engagement initiatives, including meetings, trainings, and events
  • Provide guidance to junior team members and assist with administrative oversight as needed
  • Respond to urgent property-related issues and support emergency procedures when required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, or a related field required
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial property management
  • Familiarity with budgeting, expense tracking, and financial reporting processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with property management systems is a plus
  • Working knowledge of industry regulations (ADA, OSHA) is beneficial
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Self-starter who can work independently while contributing to a team environment
