Overview Comic Illustrator job at Aeon for Ocean. Minneapolis, MN. Aeon for Ocean is a U.S.-based, volunteer-run nonprofit founded by 7-year-old Aeon in Minnesota, to share knowledge about marine life, the oceans, and our role in protecting this planet. Our focus is on helping inland communities understand why the ocean matters and identify things they can do to protect the ocean. Through our Krill2Whale program and other initiatives, Aeon for Ocean is teaching kids they can save the World Ocean for eons! Role Summary Aeon for Ocean is looking for our next Comic Illustrator Volunteer to join our amazing team and create an ongoing series of comics, introductory comic workshops geared for kids, and assist with the development of an animation series in the future. We are looking for someone who can dedicate 1-2 hours per week, and can commit for at least 6 months (though we’d love to have you even longer)! If you are passionate about the oceans and have a knack for artwork, drawing or scientific design, please get in touch! Responsibilities Develop educational material that aligns with Aeon for Ocean’s goals and missions. Design, develop and implement an introductory comic workshop. Work closely with other members of the design and illustration team to build new programs and initiatives. Qualifications Adobe Creative Suite or Similar program knowledge Prior animation experience preferred Strong drawing skills (either analogue or digital) Ability to express concepts visually Writing skills Storyboarding skills Solid understanding of visual language texture, color, dimension, scale, perspective, shade, composition, depth of field, proportion, spatial awareness, etc Good communication skills, ability to explain concepts and support artistic choices How To Apply If interested in this position, please apply using the link on this page.
