Overview

Seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Data Analyst Intern to support research, portfolio analysis, and ecosystem-level insights. This intern will help bring clarity to complex and fragmented datasets, turning information into visuals and insights that support leadership and strategic planning. The ideal candidate is curious, analytical, and eager to learn how data is translated into meaningful insights in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

This paid internship has an anticipated start date of Summer 2026 , with the possibility of extending additional semesters.


Responsibilities

  • Providing support for qualitative and quantitative data analysis and reporting activities
  • Assisting in collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data from various sources to improve usability and consistency
  • Developing and maintaining data visualizations and reports to communicate key insights to stakeholders
  • Conducting analyses to identify trends, patterns, and correlations within the data
  • Supporting the implementation and maintenance of data management systems and processes
  • Cleaning, standardizing, and validating data to ensure accuracy and integrity
  • Conducting quality assurance checks on data to identify and resolve discrepancies or errors
  • Participating in team meetings and contributing to discussions on data-driven approaches to advocacy
  • Tracking and analyzing metrics, KPIs, and portfolio data over time
  • Collaborate with team members to understand data needs
Qualifications
  • Enrolled as a rising junior, senior, or graduate student at an accredited college/university
  • Pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Business, or a related field
  • Relevant coursework and/or demonstrated interest in data analysis, statistics, or data visualization is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with data analysis tools (Excel, Google Analytics), basic data visualization platforms (Tableau, Power BI), and statistical concepts
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities with strong attention to detail in data cleaning and validation
  • Able to present data findings clearly in reports and explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to actively engage in team meetings and discussions, adapting to different team members and project needs
  • Self-starter with the ability to work under tight deadlines, manage multiple projects, anticipate needs, and prioritize tasks effectively

Hybrid Work Environment
AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as remote workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work can only be done within the United States and its territories.
