Junior Network Engineer North Wales / Montgomeryville, PA (Hybrid)$20-$23/hr W2 | Long-Term Contract, Potential for Conversion Piper Companies is seeking a Junior Network Engineer to support a leading healthcare organization in the Greater Philadelphia area. This position is ideal for an early-career networking professional looking to gain hands-on experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure projects across multiple healthcare facilities.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior network engineers on network builds, upgrades, refresh initiatives, and day-to-day project activities. This role requires a strong networking foundation, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to perform hands-on installation and deployment work in data center and healthcare environments.
Responsibilities - Support enterprise network deployment, upgrade, and refresh projects across multiple healthcare locations
- Perform hands-on installation, configuration, and "rack and stack" activities for network hardware
- Assist with deployment and maintenance of LAN, WAN, WLAN, and voice network infrastructure
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, hardware, and infrastructure issues
- Support network equipment installations including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless devices
- Work with senior engineers to implement network changes and project deliverables
- Assist with network documentation, project tracking, and audit requirements
- Participate in network testing, validation, and post-installation support activities
- Follow organizational standards, policies, and project methodologies
- Provide on-site support for infrastructure initiatives and technology rollouts
Required Qualifications - 1-3 years of Network Engineering, Network Support, Infrastructure Support, or related IT experience
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and TCP/IP concepts
- Experience working with network switches, routers, and firewalls
- Knowledge of routing and switching concepts
- Familiarity with dynamic routing protocols including:
- BGP (required)
- OSPF (required)
- EIGRP (preferred)
- Experience with network troubleshooting and hardware installations
- Ability to read and understand network diagrams and documentation
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications - CCNA certification or active pursuit of CCNA
- Experience supporting Cisco, Extreme Networks, or similar enterprise networking environments
- Exposure to Palo Alto firewalls
- Experience with wireless networking technologies
- Experience supporting infrastructure projects or technology deployments
- Healthcare IT experience is a plus
