About the Position

Description

We are seeking a Board Certified Rheumatologist to provide outpatient clinic coverage for a well-established healthcare system in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This is a full-time locum opportunity with an estimated 24-week assignment and the potential for extension. The physician will provide in-person patient care, participate in call coverage, and collaborate with an experienced multidisciplinary team.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient rheumatology care.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with rheumatic and autoimmune conditions.
• See approximately 18 patients per day .
• Participate in rotating evening call coverage and 1 in 3 weekend call .
• Collaborate with two Rheumatologists and an established Orthopedic team.
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR .
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in an outpatient clinic setting.

Working Hours

• Assignment: September 21, 2026 – March 5, 2027 (24 weeks)
• Schedule: Monday–Friday
• Clinic hours between 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Variable 4-hour patient-facing clinic sessions (morning or afternoon)
• Must be available to work 6 shifts per week
• Rotating evening call and 1 in 3 weekend call
• On-site only (No remote coverage available)

Requirements

• MD or DO degree.
• Board Certified in Rheumatology (Required).
• Active Massachusetts medical license (Required).
• Current influenza vaccination required (no exemptions or waivers accepted).
• Must provide a current or most recent direct supervisor reference .
• Previous locum experience is preferred.
