CarePartners is seeking a compassionate and motivated Nurse Extern PRN to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team and support our mission of improving community health through coordinated, patient-centered care. In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of registered nurses and other licensed clinicians to provide safe, high-quality, hands-on care to patients across our partnered provider network. You will assist with basic patient care activities such as obtaining vital signs, helping with hygiene and mobility, monitoring comfort and safety, documenting observations, and promptly reporting changes in patient status to the supervising nurse. As a Nurse Extern PRN, you will have the opportunity to strengthen your clinical skills, build confidence in a professional healthcare environment, and gain exposure to interdisciplinary teamwork while maintaining a flexible, as-needed schedule that supports your ongoing nursing education. You will collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals to support care plans, contribute to a positive patient experience, and model the values of collaboration, compassion, and respect in every interaction. The position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to infection control and safety standards. Ideal candidates are current nursing students in good academic standing who are eager to learn, receptive to feedback, and dedicated to delivering patient-centered care. This is a PRN (as-needed) role that may include day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts, providing exposure to a variety of clinical situations while supporting CarePartners’ goal of ensuring accessible, efficient healthcare service delivery throughout our Connecticut network.
