Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Packer/Material Handler to join our team. This role involves working on an early 1st shift schedule (4:00am-2:30pm M-TH) with responsibilities that include handling and packing of liquids and powders, using precise measurements, and operating machinery.

Responsibilities

• Use computer systems to handle related documentation.
• Manually moving materials as needed, utilizing warehouse equipment, and
• Fill liquids and powders into tanks accurately.
• Utilize scales for precise measurement of liquids.
• Weigh out raw materials according to the formula.
• Operate a forklift to move products on the production floor.
• Select and scan appropriate raw materials ensuring lot number and quantity accuracy.
• Stage and add materials to tanks as per manufacturing instructions.
• Fill and pack orders ensuring accurate weight and appropriate labeling.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety guidelines.
• Be open to cross-training and assisting in different departments.

Essential Skills

• Experience in warehouse operations, loading, and packing.
• Ability to work around chemicals and food-grade materials.
• Proficiency in using scales, pumps, valves, and air mixers.
• Capability to lift 50 lbs.
• Skill in operating forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Attention to detail in labeling and packing logs.
• Comfortable wearing a respirator.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with GMP in food manufacturing, compounding, and material handling.
• Knowledge in unloading, order picking, packaging, and production.

Work Environment

The work environment is a GMP-regulated food manufacturing setting, requiring adherence to strict safety and cleanliness protocols. The role involves exposure to chemicals and food-grade materials, necessitating the use of personal protective equipment, such as respirators.

This is a Permanent position based out of NORTHBROOK, IL.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
