Position Overview:
The Wastewater Treatment Operator will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the wastewater treatment plant operations. This includes monitoring equipment, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. The successful candidate will work closely with our team to provide safe and efficient wastewater treatment services while contributing to our commitment to environmental protection and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain wastewater treatment equipment and systems.
  • Monitor chemical treatment processes and adjust chemical feed rates as needed.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment, machinery, and plant systems.
  • Perform regular sampling and testing of water quality, ensuring compliance with local and state regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain accurate records of plant operations, maintenance, and testing results.
  • Respond to emergency situations, including equipment failures or system upsets.
  • Ensure the facility is operating in compliance with environmental health and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in Environmental Science, Water Resources, or a related field preferred).
  • Certification as a Wastewater Treatment Operator (or the ability to obtain certification within a specified time).
  • Proven experience operating and maintaining wastewater treatment facilities or equipment (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, equipment, and regulatory standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work in outdoor environments and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Approximately 16 hours a week on weekends
