Meijer is seeking a Sales Accounting Manager to join our Finance, Accounting & Administration team within our leading American supercenter retail business. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of sales accounting across our multi-state store network, ensuring that revenue, margin, and related transactions are recorded accurately, timely, and in compliance with GAAP and company policies. You will manage the end-to-end reconciliation of point-of-sale data, cash, credit, and digital payments, investigating and resolving discrepancies while partnering closely with store operations and merchandising teams. As a key financial leader within a fast-paced retail environment, you will support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and detailed variance analysis on sales and margins. You will prepare and review sales-related financial reports and dashboards for leadership, translating data into meaningful insights that support decision-making and profitability. The Sales Accounting Manager will design, implement, and maintain strong internal controls around sales accounting, cash handling, discounts, promotions, returns, and loyalty programs, helping safeguard company assets and improve process efficiency. You will collaborate with IT and other functional partners to enhance POS data integrity, streamline workflows, and support new business initiatives and system enhancements. In addition, you will lead and develop a small team of accounting professionals, providing coaching, training, and clear performance expectations in alignment with Meijer’s culture of respect, diversity, inclusion, and teamwork. You will work in a hybrid environment, spending time both on-site and remotely, while interacting frequently with cross-functional stakeholders.
