Emerald Coast Regional Council is seeking a Planner I under the supervision of the Community and Economic Development Director. The role involves entry‑level professional planning work including developing planning studies, reports, and supporting new and updated plans, programs, and regulations. Responsibilities Develop planning studies and reports in support of new and updated plans, programs, and regulations Collect statistical data, prepare reports and maps; conduct research and analysis as needed Attend meetings related to the area of responsibility, serving as a representative of the agency (may include evenings and weekends) Serve as support staff for community groups, government agencies, developers, and elected officials Provide technical assistance via email, telephone, and in person to organizations seeking help on issues related to the assigned area of responsibility Assist in planning projects, workshops, and events related to the assigned area of responsibility Contribute to monthly newsletters, periodic reports, and the agency annual reports Conduct field evaluations and assessments related to the area of responsibility as needed Provide staff support to local boards related to the assigned area of responsibility Provide information to the public related to the area of responsibility Assist in the review of a variety of proposals and plans Research and draft grant applications Coordinate meetings (These essential job functions are not to be construed as a complete statement of all duties performed.
