Position Information Adjunct Job Title: Adjunct, Art History Adjunct Job Description Position Summary: Adjunct faculty in this position will teach Art History courses, which may include focuses such as Non-Western Art, Prehistoric to Early Renaissance, Renaissance to Modern, African American Art History, or Creative Arts Survey. Adjunct faculty develop and/or present course materials as requested by their supervisor and evaluate student progress in adherence with the core learning outcomes of assigned courses. Adjunct faculty are expected to adhere to college requirements, work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community, and use varying teaching styles and approaches that reflect an understanding and acceptance of the role of culture in a diverse, multicultural workplace. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Facilitate student mastery of learning outcomes using the most relevant scholarly and professional tools and practices available in the discipline. Actively engage students in critical thinking, meta-cognitive processes, and advancement of essential communication skills. Infuse multicultural and diverse perspectives into the instructional process as appropriate and conduct classes in a manner that demonstrates respect for individual and cultural differences. Model and cultivate open-minded inquiry, an appreciation for diverse perspectives, and creative problem-solving. Maintain currency in academic discipline and pedagogy. Complete all assigned institutional and professional training. Deliver instruction, assess and report student learning, assign grades, and regularly communicate with students in adherence with FCC requirements. Adhere to instructional timelines and guidelines and utilize college instructional technology. Use only an FCC email account when conducting College business. Required Minimum Qualifications Master’s in Art History or closely related field. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching (community college level preferred) in Art or closely related field.
